Not Quite As Good As The Factory Part
This is the 3rd replacement expansion tank cap that has been installed on my 150,000 mi E46. For the first 2 caps, I opted for the factory part. This time, I chose the Behr part. I have had very good service from other Behr replacement parts, including an electric cooling fan that I replaced years ago. I was not quite as impressed with the cap. The main issue I had was that the Behr cap does not thread onto the tank as smoothly as the BMW part. On one occasion, this resulted in the cap being under tightened by a quarter turn, with the loss of some coolant during a short drive after a routine check of the coolant level. I've learned to adjust to the situation by using the position of the BEHR warning sticker on the cap as a reference point, to insure that the cap is tightened consistently each time it is reinstalled. At my next cooling system refresh, I will likely opt for the factory cap.

Did exactly what I needed it to do. Fit an aftermarket Nissens radiator fine.

Works well, have had it on two different expansion tanks and works perfectly.
