Sorry to say that this part split and cased a very large vaccuum leak. It lasted 11 months FCP had the original BMW part just buy it

Leaks
Leaked lots of oil, and caused a major vacuum leak. Bought the elring kit and it's all leaking. It's only been 1 month

Bad design, would not recommend.
The quality seems good, however the seal is too shallow. As a result, it stretches too much when installed which can make it rip. This happened in my case. Initially I thought my valve cover cracked as large quantity of oil began leaking on top of the exhaust headers causing a lot of smoke. Upon further inspection, I found out this seal failed. I though I might've damaged it during installation, but when I compared it to the original BMW seal I realized the Elring seal has a design flaw.

Failed within a week
Definitely steer clear of the this seal from elring. Installed and less than a week later ripped almost all around the inner edge, causing significant vacuum leak, and rough idle. Also may have caused my oil filter to completely crush. Bought a Mahle one and seemed to work a lot better.

Agree...it's bad
I replaced the valve cover gasket in my 2007 328i in August using the "kit" from FCP. This seal was in the kit. I just got done ripping apart the engine compartment again because I thought the valve cover gasket was leaking again. Found this seal to be the problem. Don't buy this one.

Leak
This gasket will leak and cause vacuum leak. Will have you chasing a lean code. Smoke test verified it’s coming from the gasket.

Torn on Install
Compared to the original gasket my car had, this one did not flex enough to fit from the valve cover to the mount on the cylinder head. It torn along the bottom right away and caused a large vacuum leak and oil leak. Do not buy this gasket.

Failed within a year
Failed on the upper side of the seal where the metal meets the rubber. Not a bad leak but rough RPMs caused by vacuum leak.

Part failed in under two weeks
The seal ripped itself apart in under two weeks. Terrible product. I will be calling FCP euro on this one but in the meantime I have a dead car leaking oil like crazy!
