Genuine tensioner - must have maintenance item
Like all of the drive accessory parts on my BMWs, every 50,000-60,000 miles they get replaced. This one is the genuine BMW part (or its the OEM, I cannot remember). For me, the OE part seemed ok to use, but in the past I wasn't as impressed with the OE as I was with the OEM/Genuine. Once again, I am sure they're just fine, but I am an engineer and there are some minor things that matter to me more than others; thus, I am happy FCP sells this stuff at such great prices.

This new tensioner definitely made a difference and decreased the noticeable belt vibration. It was also noticeable when driving. Fit as expected and was very simple to remove the existing and place the new tensioner in its place. Great product.

I changed mine because it was jiggling, and on forums that's apparently a sign of wear. So I changed it, and the new one jiggles but not as much as the old one. One of the guys here at FCP assured me that's normal. I'm still unsure about this as some people on the forums noted no jiggling with their new tensioner. However, 500 miles into it and I've had no issues.

Part appears to be an exact match . Release the pin after belt is installed. You will need E12 socket and Torx 60 to install.

Easy maintenance item for my F02
Wobbly tensioner be gone! This is a VERY easy DIY maintenance item. Get a good serpentine tool and a spark Allen wrench to hold the old tensioner while installing. If you replace this, it's best to replace the two tensioners and the belt at the same time.

Great build quality and price. Didn't know how bad my old tensioner was until I replaced it. It was shaking a bit too much and the new one doesn't move not in the least.

Works fine. Identical to "Genuine BMW" part. Save yourself money and don't bother buying the "genuine" part.
