Just had these installed a few months ago. Beware of the good reviews on these brake pads. They DO NOT have the same stopping power as BMW original brake pads; it is about 75% of the stopping power that OEM pads would have. Also the brakes WILL squeal for a while (approx: 300-500 miles) after install because of the metal fibers from these aftermarket brakes. The brake dust is slightly less than OEM pads but overall, these brakes are not as good as everyone says they are.

Ordered these because the brake pads I previously had had ridiculous brake dust. I must say 3 weeks with this akebonos, 500+ miles and wheels still look good.

i was skeptical about these brake because i never heard of them. But after installing them and having them on my car from about 2 months, they are great and very quiet. They have good stopping power low brake dust.

Good, solid brake pad for a daily driver. No squeal. No sooty OEM pad dust all over the place!

Replaced " Textron" rear pads which were dirty metallic sooty items, brake guide rods and caliper brackets no visable grease, caliper support rods were dry with noticable with light grooves worn in also ,caliper bracket slide surfaces had 1 wear point after only 4 years of no dealer maintainance and were lightly sooted up, wear surfaces dry also , wirebrushed surfaces till smooth and clean and shiny,sprayed with brake cleaner like new, regreased eveything installed new ECS rear bronze bushings kit with stainless guide rods , used install bushing kit all like new, rotors wearing in nicely too

I replaced these on my 2011 335d and so far so good. The initial bite is not as good as BMW's factory pads but way less dust and more of a linear feel. They are fairly new so let's see how they perform after several months of bedding. For the price, you can't beat it as I feel it's equivalent to Hawk HPS which I have had on many of my BMW's in the past.

I purchased the Akebono brake pads as the description noted the low volume of brake dust compared to other brake pads. As a BMW owner, you know that you have to constantly clean your wheels to remove brake dust so going from a Geniune BMW brake pad to a different vendor brake pad should help. Low volume of brake dust as noted for the Akebono pads is not a good enough description. It should be changed to literally zero brake dust. I do not drive my BMW like a Sunday driver and am constantly doing highway braking. I have not had to wash my wheels at all and only wash the wheels when I wash the entire car. When my front pads need replacement, I will be going with the Akebono pads for the front and also on my wife's X3 when they need replacement.
