When doing a transfer case service this is a must for the drain bolt at least so the seals wont leak. Might get away with leaving the original filler bolt though. But always replace the drain bolt.

This job stank and sucked
Stank because gear oil just stinks, and sucked because I had to use a transfer pump to remove the old diff fluid! But this plug seems identical to the original one I removed and cinched down easily using my 1/2-in drive 14mm hex socket and my torque wrench. Thanks, FCP, for posting the torque spec on the product page; very helpful.
