Works like a charm five minutes tops to change both of them.

My trunk struts were shot as were all the gas filled struts on this 09 E90. I was always like... why won't the trunk open and stay open? I had an A-Ha moment and it took just 5 minutes from opening the shipping package to both struts fully installed on the car correctly. Pro tip is to use a flat blade screwdriver on an angle to the security clip on the strut ends and just slightly pry it up with your screwdriver, and pull the strut lightly away from the ball pin it rests on with your other hand. Position the new strut on top of the ball pin after wiping off the old crusty grease (these struts are pre-greased!) and lightly pry the clip up, pushing the strut onto the pin with very modest pressure from your opposite hand. I don't think that there is an easier removal and installation of anything on this car than this.

Imagine owning your 335 long enough to replace the trunk (or hood) lift struts twice?! And these are starting off great! It's an easy R&R, with the immediate benefit of helping tift Then reliably holding the trunk lid (or hood) without it sinking shut. These seem to be working fine, I'd do it again.
