BMW 5-Piece M3 Control Arm Upgrade Kit - BMWMCAKIT
2008 335i E90.
My struts went bad, I didn't correct the issue and continued to drive. When I replaced my struts (Non sport) I noticed some slop, bad tire wear, and a clunk in the front end. Seemed like the thrust arms went bad. Got this kit as solid rubber is stronger than the OEM fluid ones, and thinking it would handle better. NVH is definitely more pronounced with these, not uncomfortable but noticeable. This car does all highway miles, around 80+ constantly. So comfort for me is preferable. Brake response, steering response, steering feel, are all better, not sure how new fluid ones would feel though....Anything would be better than what came out. I feel a vibration in the steering wheel now to which wasn't there before. Probably something the old bushings absorbed and didn't feed back through the wheel. Personally if I were to do this again id probably get the fluid filled thrust arms for the NVH reduction but keep M3 style control arm, for the extra camber and floating bearing design over solid rubber. Got the "M3" alignment which from looking at the alignment spec sheets, the M3 alignment just has a tighter tolerance, but the same target values as base E90's.
Also did the sway bar end links, and sway bar bushings. Bushings were out of shape pretty bad.
Im in the rust belt, broke many torx bits doing this job. Get some impact rated ones and spend a decent chunk of time prepping threads before you try and remove anything (by hand). I just went for it and it cost me probably an extra 5 hour of work. Did my due diligence, and the other side was done in under an hour including the prep work. Watch some videos, the m3 control arm is a bit of a pain but it will go in to the sub frame.

If you remove the steering tie rod from the knuckle and rotate the steering wheel to the opposite side, installation is WAY easier. The control rod bolt can come straight out. The bushing on the M3 (71.3 mm vs 71mm) control arm is slightly larger than the OE arm. While likely not recommended, a quick whizzy wheel treatment makes it slide in easier.

I am indeed very sad that my most recent order was not filled completely, if you don't actually have an item in stock you should not advertise it as being in stock, this will save your customers time and money. Fortunately I was able to acquire the item you could not provide. I am, however, still in need of a nut to fit on the ball joint of the control arm you were able to provide, if you can help me to obtain said nut I would be very much appreciative. Thank you.

This was a no-brainer if you're trying to handle the road with precise and precision accuracy the only thing that can make it better if you do the M3 control arm kit for the rear.

M3 Control arm upgrade kit for e91 Wagon
Purchased these for my 2011 M Sport Wagon. Fitment is a little tight as noted but had no trouble installing these with the help of a family member. I have noticed no increase in ride harshness, cabin noise, or vibration. Handling seems much improved and the car feels more planted. These should be installed on ALL e90's in my opinion. When I went to get an alignment, the guy told me that it was very much out of spec (no duh) so I asked him to align it to stock tolerances with -1.8 camber. He was concerned about doing it because the car felt "off" to him when he drove it in but was convinced otherwise when he drove it after alignment. "Feels like it's on rails" he said once everthing was completed. Next stop, Bilstein B8's.
