Question Posted by a customer
If I plan on changing the front the Strut/ Spring at the same time, would I purchase the m-sport (S704A)? My car does not have sport suspension currently. 11' 328i
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
You can do so if you wish but that's not a requirement for installing these control arms. If you're going to convert to a factory sport suspension you will need to do it at all 4 corners (struts, shocks, and springs).

After working with TRW they have assured the quality of the control arms in question despite the manufacturing country of origin change.

Any update on the TRW-JTC1423 and TRW-JTC1424? If still nothing, is there an alternative?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
We are waiting on TRW to confirm a production change on the two arms. Production was shifted from Germany to Malaysia and the subsequent quality difference is unacceptable (cast aluminum arm and aftermarket bushing vs forged aluminum arm and OE bushing). Until we can get this sorted on the manufacturer end there is no update. The only alternative option is Genuine control arms for the thrust arms.

When will this be back in stock?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)

Question Posted by drevyn
should i buy new buts and bolts when upgrading to m3 control arms?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes, the bolts are one-time use only (torque to yield). Please see p/n KIT-31106763928KT. The ball joint nuts are included with the control arms.
Question Posted by drevyn
are these upper or lower control arms ?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
BMW E8X and E9X chassis utilize a two-link Macpherson strut front suspension. These control arms are both lower arms due to the design of the front suspension. Sometimes the curved thrust arm is referred to as an upper arm but it's still a lower control arm.
Question Posted by drevyn
does this kit come with ball joints ?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
The ball joint is physically part of the control arm and is not a separate or serviceable part.
