Excellent replacement for plastic junk
I'm not sure why BMW ever opted for a plastic pulley. When removing the fan it is insufficient to just hook the tool over the pulley bolts. Invariably you put some pressure on the pulley. Crack!! The plastic part is junk. The alluminum pulley is solid, well-machined, and provides considerably more peace of mind. It is nice that the bolts are included, but it would be better if you could get this without the belt. Oh well, I have an extra one now. If you have a plastic pulley, do yourself a favor and get this one from Rein. Also, pick it up from FCPEuro; they are the best parts distributor for BMW I have found.

This pulley wont crack if your fan clutch is stuck and you're trying to remove it

Ordered this part for preventative maintenance on my E46. Part is outstanding - night and day difference. Machined well and heavy. Of note, go easy on the included screws as I snapped one. Highly recommended upgrade to OEM.

I probably didn't need it, but this pulley is well-made and fits perfectly. After pulling the old pulley when replacing the water pump, I see no advantage to this aluminum unit over the stock GFRP pulley, but it looks nice.

The pulley looks good, and fits as it should. The bolts that came in the kit broke easily, so I was forced to reuse my original hardware.

Heavy Duty! Don't forget the antiseize!
Put one on both of my e46's. Great heavy duty replacement for my battered plastic pulleys and the Contitech belt is made to last. On my first one, the paper explaining the need for antiseize was on the bottom of the box, and I didn't read it until I put everything back together. Totally my fault, but hopefully this saved somebody from making the same mistake!

I had genuine bmw aluminium water pump pulley but I just replaced with this new one and its shinning. But I still keeping my genuine one !

Installation was easy, there are instructions to inform to apply anti seize grease.
4 screws provided.
