I am glad I saw FCP video on how to replace the mickey mouse flange. Unscrew the original plastic flange on my 2010 BMW 328xi, broke the plastic flange with the players, cleaned the
inside of the hose for debris, screwed the aluminum flange, top off the coolant and bleed the system, voila done in half hour. It's so easy I was able to replace the flange on my own
and saved buckoo denero.

If youre doing any engine work that requires removal of this mickey flange that goes to the cylinder head, it is almost a guarantee that the plastic one will be brittle and come out broken, like mine was. This aluminum replacement is the best there is. One special consideration is to remove the O ring that comes with this kit, and install a brand new OEM BMW O Ring (lubricate O ring with coolant for easier install into the engine block). Or else the aftermarket O ring will leak coolant prematurely. This hasnt happened to me but i have heard horror stories of it happening to other people. Stay on the safe side and replace the aftermarket O ring with an OEM, its not that expensive either. BMW O ring for n55 mickey flange part # OES-11537545278

Good flange, terrible O Ring!
I bought this to replace my OEM plastic flange on my f30 335i. Initially, had no complaints with this product, as the flange and clamp seemed to be high quality, but the fit was pretty snug going into the block. Fast forward 9 months later and it’s weeping coolant, which got worse and worse until I pulled it today. The o ring was brittle, hard, cracked, and squared off- not even a year of use! I bought an OEM o ring and reinstalled it, and it went in easier. I’ve seen other reports of this happening on the f30 and e90 forums, Rein needs to include a better o ring, or FCP euro needs to include a .50 cent OE one. It was a cheap fix but was a pain to drain the coolant and replace this less than a year later for what should have been a forever fix

This part works great and is definitely an upgrade from the plastic original. I upgraded to this flange before I had to change the Oil Filter Housing gaskets (OFHG). When I went to remove the OFHG from the vehicle, this flange protruded far enough out that it prevented backing out one of the bolts on the OFHG (the small one). I had to remove the flange off of the block in order to completely back out the bolt. This wasn't too big an issue because the coolant needed to be drained as part of servicing the OFHG. I was a bit surprised by this but again, it's not that big of a deal because now that both of these jobs are done, they won't be an issue for a long time (i.e. it will be the next owner's problem).

Replacement mickey flange
Good replacement for the plastic one the car comes with. I had to crush the neck of the old one inside the hose to get it off, but it came off. Not the parts fault, but make sure that when you remove the old plastic one, you hold the hose in a downward position so that any plastic pieces that come off don't fall INTO the hose. I'm not speaking from experience, don't look into it...

When I replaced mine on my N55 the whole plastic flange came out, I should have bought a lottery ticket!

Aluminum Coolant Hose Flange
You'd think BMW would have fixed the plastic flange by now? Nope ... still an issue and this aluminum one fits great. No-brainer in my opinion. :)
