Question Posted by a customer
Hey I was wondering the size of the bolt or where I can find that bolt. I’m talking about the long one the one that loosens the tension when you tighten the tensioner
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Belt tension is released via the torx bolt that secures the tensioner pulley to the tensioner assembly. To do this you use a ratchet and turn clockwise as if tightening the bolt. The longer bolt pictured is a mounting bolt for the upper pivot point to the engine block. The longer bolt should only be removed once a belt has been removed from the vehicle. The tensioner pulley bolt on it's own is p/n 07129905534 and the longer mounting bolt is p/n 07119904532. Both are listed on our site and can be found by searching the part number.

All specs refer to this kit as a hydraulic tensioner conversion kit from old-style mechanical design. Does it fit as a replacement of my factory hydraulic tensioner kit? (03' X5 3.0)
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes, this tensioner will fit your X5.
Question Posted by a customer
Your video posted on the hydraulic tensioner kit shows the installation of a manual tensioner.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
The general installation of the tensioner is the same regardless of whether it's a mechanical or hydraulic tensioner.
Question Posted by Andrew
Is this a direct fit to replace a mechanical tensioner? I have a 2001 325CI (E46) with a mechanical tensioner.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes, this is a direct replacement for mechanical tensioners.
