Such a great upgrade from the stock and dated shifter knob in the E46 M3. I upgraded to an Alcantara boot at the same time to make the install easier, instead of cutting out the leather from my original boot. Works and feels great. Would recommend the F10 M5 shift knob if you want it illuminated as well... although I find this feature pointless and annoying so was happier with the pure ZHP shift knob.

This is just fantastic! Not only is it a nicer than factory gear knob, its shorter so makes the shifts quicker. Love it!

Seriously, the ZHP shift knob is one of the best you can get. It's the first thing I purchase when I buy a new BMW.

Just do it! I swapped this onto my 2008 528i. Its shorter than the original shifter. The top is rounder, which makes grabbing it much a more natural feeling. It looks fancier than the stock shifter. It's also a little heavier, which is nice. It even looks nicer. Wish I sprung for the lighted version, but I didn't have it before either.
