08 BMW X5 4.8 This kit was the answer to a delayed reverse gear. It also seamed to smooth out the shifting gears. Great price and it was made by the original transmission manufacturer. If you are going to do this job... I suggest you buy the kit to change out all the internal seals...it really transforms your car into new.

Just a note, this is the same kit you can get at The CTSC, but it does NOT come with the needed foam strip for the solenoids. The foam strip is used to insulate the solenoid pins and prevent shorts. Its not the biggest deal in the world, but only finding out AFTER the parts are on the bench ready to rebuild and need to order something else from somewhere else is a real pain. I would advise FCP to include this less than $10 in the kit here or at least list it separately so that any other wholesale customers can at least order it all from one site.

Used this along with the filter fluid kit. Note you need to get a foam sleeve to protect the solenoids from transmission fluid as well, but I think Pelican sells them and ebay. Did not see them here. Also, the transmission must go through a relearn procedure - car must be reset using a lap top software Resetting Adaptations using INPA and also you must follow the driving procedures which require a very long stretch of abandoned road. I go it done and the trans on my daughter 2008 e60 shifts perfectly now.

Transmission had been having rough shifts from 2nd to 1st, and flaring around 4th gear. Had shop replace the solenoids with this kit. The car ran rough for about 200 miles after solenoid replacement and adaption reset, but is now running buttery smooth. Wish I would have done this a lot sooner.

Just had this installed by my mechanic.. car is like new now .. thank you .. cars transmission was slipping on 1st and 2nd gear ... feels like new now
