No, if you are experiencing hard shifts you need to do a transmission service. If the last 6 digits of your VIN are 568000 or below, use KIT-521830. If the last 6 digits of your VIN are 568001 or above use KIT-521827. There are videos attached to the listings that have more information on this service. You must have the transmission adaptation reset at a dealer or licensed shop with Volvo VIDA software after doing the fluid changes so the transmission control unit can re-learn the shift operation with the new oil. This should keep your transmission reliable and greatly reduce if not eliminate the hard shift. If you allow the hard shift to continue to worsen, damage will most likely occur to the internals.
