I never knew I'd need a 12-point spark plug socket until I couldn't fit my standard socket into my '08 335i engine. The shaft narrows right before reaching the spark plug, and the spark plug itself has a 12-point base. With this socket, the spark plug change took 15 minutes. Thanks, FCP Euro!

Does what it sets out to do well. Has a nice little rubber grommet to retain the plug on insertion and removal.

Pretty annoying because it pulls off of the extension. It should have a good grip on the spark plug, but not so hard that it won't come out of the hole after tightening the spark plug. I had to tape it to my extension for it to stay on.

14mm 12 Point Spark Plug Socket
Works perfectly for replacing BMW 3 series spark plugs. Saves time and frustration over trying to get a regular spark plug socket to work.

Not the firmest fit on friction-ring extensions
Nice cheap spark plug socket for N16, N54, etc. BMW wants you to use a swivel extension when using it to protect the plug.
Only downside is that it grabs the plug very nicely but not as tight on a non-ball-detent extension so it can get stuck down the well. Fortunately, I have both types of extensions.

14mm 12 point spark plug socket
Did the trick proper, no muss, no fuss. But I did end up popping the oring out as it was a little tight, rubbed a little dielectric grease on the oring for lube and she was golden.

Needed to change spark plugs in my 2014 X1, so you need this tool. works well. after properly torquing spark plug it is a little cumbersome to retrieve the socket. the rubber in the socket that holds onto the plug has a tight grip, so i rocked the socket with a 6" extension to free the socket. not hard but patience is necessary.

Perfect for doing sparks plugs on a F10 535. I sprayed some WD-40 silicone on the rubber plug that holds the spark plug. It didnt get stuck at all. Will also be using this on my W212 E550 when the plugs need to be replaced .

Works great, but I had to spray the o-ring with silicon and secure the connections to the swivel joint and extension with electrical tape so the socket doesn't get stuck when I pull it out after I torque the plug in.
