The 1979 US model year Scirocco had a 5-speed manual transmission in the US with an automatic transmission being quite rare. The mark II Scirocco was available in 1982 and remained on the proven A1 platform. A Volkswagen Scirocco II had many cool features like a rear spoiler midway up the rear hatch, single windshield wiper and leather interior.
