Mercedes Transmission Parts

Mercedes, a worldwide auto market leader, has always kept ahead of the game by discovering advanced designs and superior automobiles. Mercedes continues to construct some of the most respected vehicles and parts in the auto industry. Their transmission parts are a huge asset to any Mercedes make or model. Strange sounds coming from the transmission of your Mercedes, trouble shifting gears, or leaky fluids are all symptoms that the transmission is wearing down or becoming faulty. There are numerous inspections you can do to make sure the your Mercedes transmission is in proper working order. You do not need any special tools or equipment to perform some basic diagnostic tests. The first thing you need to do is check your valve hoses. The valve hoses in the Mercedes engine are found in a small black box on top of the valve cover. Inspect the tops of the valve covers to make sure they are not worn out; if they are, you will need to interchange them. Look at the color of your transmission fluid. Transmission fluid needs to be flushed and changed regularly and is a red in color. If it has become black or turned a dark gray, then there probably is an internal oil leak that is distressing your transmission. FCP Euro has enormous inventory for Mercedes transmission parts, including all Mercedes vehicle products in general.

Next, take a look at your Mercedes transmission oil pan. A mechanic may need to take this out if you have not done so before. If there is metal at the bottom of your transmission oil pan, the transmission is broken. Inspect your vacuum modulator at this point. This part is accountable for telling the transmission when to shift. Shift slips can be attuned by turning the modulator clockwise to upturn the pressure and initiate a later shift, or counterclockwise to lower the pressure and initiate an earlier shift. Adjust your throttle pressure next. Another way to adjust how the transmission shifts is by increasing or decreasing the tension of your throttle pressure cable. Make the glide shorter to make the transmission shift later or make it lengthier to make it shift earlier. Listen to the engine while it is idling. An unstable idle or unusual noise could be a symbol of a deprived intake air temperature sensor; poor engine coolant temperature sensor or an unclean throttle body. Make sure all these mechanisms are working correctly to prevent transmission damage.
