About the Volvo S60 Model

The Volvo S60 is a compact luxury sedan introduced in 2000. Since its introduction, there have been two generations, 2000-09 and the brand new redesigned second generation S60 in 2010. The first generation S60 is based off of the Volvo S80 and the new Volvo P2 platform that was unveiled in 1999. Volvo offered a variety of inline 5 cylinder engines that appealed to a different large demographic of Volvo enthusiasts. These included the non-turbo, low compression turbo, and the high compression turbo T5 engines.

In 2004, Volvo continued it's tradition of "R" cars (began in 1995 with the Volvo 850 R) and launched the highly anticipated and sought after Volvo S60 R. The S60 R sported a 2.5L 300hp turbo charged inline 5 cylinder engine, 18" Wheels, large front and rear Brembo four piston brakes, HID headlights, and a variety of other impressive Volvo S60R parts.
