BMW Cooling Hose Parts
BMW has always had a desire for quality and visceral designs. BMW has an esteemed reliability in all of their products, particularly their cooling hose parts and components. Exposure to high heat from your BMW’s engine and chemical assault from the coolant can cause your cooling hose to fail. If this occurs, your BMW cannot be operated until the hose is mended or overheating of the engine will result. In an emergency situation the hose can be provisionally patched, allowing you to drive a short time to a garage or your home. Carefully scrutinize the outside of the radiator hose for perforations, including, cracks and holes. If you cannot see any visually, check the engine coolant level to make sure there is enough coolant. The proper level is above minimum level marked on the coolant reservoir. Then start the engine. If coolant level is low, replenish the level with correctly diluted coolant. With the engine running, dry the outside of the radiator hose with a towel and look for the fluid or escaping steam. Be very careful not to directly touch the hot hose or hot engine parts. Cautiously note the location of the leak. Stop the engine and allow it to cool and take off the coolant reservoir cap. If you have questions about BMW’s cooling hose parts, the FCP Euro team and website are always in place to help out.

If the leak in your BMW’s cooling hose is within an inch or so of either end of the hose then disconnect the hose at the leaking end. Cut a long enough length from the end of the hose to take out the leak and then reinstall the hose. Replace the coolant reservoir cap, start the engine, and makes sure that the leak has stopped. If the leak is not near the end and you do not have a repair kit, patch the leak by first cleaning entirely around the hose in the area of the leak, then wrapping numerous turns of duct tape around the leak. If you have a hose clamp, put it over the duct tape to reinforce the patch. Replace the coolant reservoir cap, start the engine and make sure that your cooling hose’s leak has stopped.
